Tell us about your business.
My name is Shantall G’ Hylton and I have been a makeup artist for 11yrs, thus curating my brand G’Loy Makeup Artist. My job is based on the art of making my clients look and feel confident and beautiful. Makeup for me is truly a beautiful expression and I am able to accentuate the natural beauty of my clients . Since then, I have been transforming my clients into absolutely stunning versions of themselves. I am passionate about what I do, and love to spread my love for makeup to all of my clients through the work that I do.
How did you get started in the Wedding Industry?
Honestly, the wedding industry sort of found its way to me. I started out by working as a makeup artist for a popular makeup brand that sponsored lots of events and expos that had to do with weddings. From there, I fell in love. When I did my first bride for her special day, that sealed the deal for me. It was her reaction – seeing the satisfaction in how beautiful she felt on that day gave me pure bliss .
What sets you apart from other makeup artists?
I’d like to think what sets me apart is that I’m not only a makeup artist, I’m also apart of my bride’s support system for her wedding day. I’m there to help with getting dressed if I need to, I can fix any little detail that may need fixing – whether it be earrings or simply retouching the bride’s makeup right before she heads out of your room. I’m there to help make my client’s special day a breeze. With me it’s more than just makeup it’s an experience!
What is your signature style?
Soft glam definitely! Soft glam is the perfect mix of not too much and not too little. It’s a great way to show off someone’s natural beauty without over doing it. I love making makeup look like skin, that natural glow is something I look forward to creating.
Tell us about your ideal client.
I don’t have an ideal client. Each client requires something different and I love that. I like dealing with different personalities.
